Tyler Firefighters To Turn Tyler Pink On October 3rd

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Tyler firefighters will bring awareness to women’s cancer by turning Tyler pink!  This 3rd annual event will be held Monday evening (October 3rd) on the square in downtown Tyler from 5p – 8p.  It’s a great way to get the public involved and thinking about cancer and to show their support.

There is a pink fire truck and police car that travels throughout the state to raise awareness and both of them will be on the square Monday evening along with many other activities.

During the Turn Tyler Pink event you’ll be able to donate blood, get free health screening, enjoy food and music and see Tyler firefighters dressed in pink!

Tyler Mayor, Barbara Bass, who is a breast cancer survivor herself, had this to say about the event,

This event is an opportunity for the entire community to come out and honor those who have been affected by cancer.”

You can show your support too by wearing your Turn Tyler Pink t-shirt, which you can purchase at Gallery Main Street at 110 W. Erwin in downtown.  Proceeds from the shirt sales goes to local cancer organizations and last year they were able to disperse more than $20,000!
