It was the top of the fourth inning last night at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington as the Texas Rangers were taking on the Minnesota Twins when a loud clap of thunder and bolt of lightning sent players scrambling to the dugout. The lightning obviously hit very close to the stadium. You can see the interference it caused to the television signal -- the cameras even shook from the force of the thunder.

A new 'Texas Legend' has been added to the line-up at the Texas Rangers games in Arlington! Each home game in the middle of the sixth inning you can see either the traditional dot race or the 'Texas Legends' race. The Texas Legends began alternating games with the dots last season. Up until last weekend, the Texas Legends included the huge-headed Sam Houston, Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie and Nolan Ryan. This past weekend a new Legend was added and it's none other than Tyler's own Earl Campbell!

It’s being reported that The Texas Rangers have inked a deal with the All-Star pitcher for up to $8 million pro-rated with $4 million in his pocket, and he has the potential to earn an extra $1 million in incentives if he makes 10 starts.
Last week Josh Hamilton became the 16th player ever to hit four home runs in a single game, securing himself a place in the history books -- as if he hadn't done enough already. Now, the bat he used that night in Baltimore is headed to Cooperstown to forever live in the Hall of Fame. Cameron Shores became an internet celeb after video of him losing a foul ball thrown by Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland to an obnoxious couple sitting next to him. This morning he took to the Today Show this morning to talk about it. Ok well, he didn't do much of the talking, but his parents gave us the lowdown on what really happened and how their son is handling the situation now.
This story has certainly been getting a lot of national attention after last nights (4/25) game. The ABC news affiliate, WFAA in Dallas, has located the couple involved in the incident, and they say they were not aware of the crying toddler sitting next to them.

The Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland pitches a ball up into the stands towards a little kid and a guy sitting next to him steals the ball out of mid air. The little boy proceeds to start crying as the guy and his wife or girlfriend begins showing off the souvenir and taking pictures holding the ball.
One of the best catchers in baseball history, and certainly Rangers history, will hang up his glove for good today. Pudge Rodriguez will officially announce his retirement after 21 years in the league. The best part - he'll do it where it all began - in Texas.
