According to drummer Matt Sorum, the band has tried — even going so far as to record an entire album’s worth of new material with Slipknot/Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor. But it hasn’t panned out — so far, anyway.

Slash is not only currently working on a new solo album, but he is also reportedly working with Disney on a song for a cartoon. There's no word on what the cartoon may be, in fact the only information out there on this project is what Slash wrote on his twitter. More after the jump.
This summer, Slash will play a homecoming gig in Stoke-on-Trent, England, the town where he was raised. According to SundayMercury.net, the show will mark the first time that the 45-year-old rocker has played in the town in many years. Details on the venue will come out later this week. Enrique Iglesias, Plain White T's, Sara Bareilles, Linkin Park and more have submitted new unreleased songs to a Music For Relief album, the proceeds of which aid Japan. Other artists on the Music For Relief compilation include Angels & Airwaves, Counting Crows, Hoobastank, Staind, Slash, Elliott Yamin and more. The compilation disc can be downloaded at DownloadToDonate.org for a donation of ten dollars or more, with all proceeds supporting Save the Children’s emergency response efforts to the multiple disasters in Japan.
Slash was scheduled to play in Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan this week but, due to the tragic earthquake and tsunami that hit the country, has had to postpone the shows. He tweeted that he plans to come back soon and sends his love to the Japanese fans adding, “You will make it through these difficult times.” Read more at Twitter.com/Slash.

There’s a new documentary out about the number one selling effects pedal of all time and some big names in music are featured in the flick. It’s called Cry Baby: The Pedal that Rocks the World and includes commentary from Eddie Van Halen, Jerry Cantrell, Slash, Kirk Hammett, Buddy Guy and others. The pedal, which was invented in 1966, played a role in hits like Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child (Slight Return),” Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” and Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” The first two parts of the film are up on YouTube.
