Poison frontman Bret Michaels is a man who knows how to seize an opportunity. After winning ‘Celebrity Apprentice” he hit the ground running and hasn’t stopped since. He recently launched his ‘Pets Rock’ pet line exclusively at PetSmart so it’s not much of a stretch that the six-pack sporting Bret Michaels would want a piece of the fitness market too.

While Bret Michaels may be most well-known for his close to three decade stint as the frontman for Poison, he also leads a jam-packed life full of many endeavors including the recent launch of his new pet products line for PetSmart in addition to a passion for acting and directing that spawned his own film-production company with Charlie Sheen several years ago.
Given his recent health issues – including his status as a lifelong diabetic and the life-threatening stretch in 2010 where he endured an appendectomy, a brain hemorrhage and discovered a hole in his heart- Poison frontman Bret Michaels has been selected to give the keynote speech at a conference for the Diversity Alliance for Science on May 22 in Newark, N.J.

Its been about a week since Motley and Poison started their tour in Dallas, TX. A couple weeks ago I told you to get your tickets for this "must see" event. I am sure some of you didn't take my word for it and now you have to relive the concert through YouTube videos. I found some great footage of the performance that were popping up. I sure did want to go to the concert for the spectacle alone -- pyrotechnics were claimed to be second to none -- but then the performance would be an "ear-gasim." Bret Michaels is talking more about his lawsuit against the Tony Awards for the 2009 scenery mishap that left him with a fractured nose, a split lip and allegedly led to his brain hemorrhage. At an event this weekend, Bret said he tried to resolve the issue with the Tony producers but explained, “Let’s just say they were pretty cold.” According to D Magazine, Bret added that the awards show didn’t cut away from the incident when they could have avoided embarrassing him. It blows my mind that the Tony Awards didn’t pay medical costs either, so he is suing for them and for lost wages due to his injuries. Michaels says, “I’m sorry it came to this.” More after the jump.
Bret Michaels may be recovering from heart surgery, but the Poison singer has no plans to slow down. He kicks off a tour with Motley Crue and the New York Dolls this summer and he’s also releasing a new solo album and touring on his own in May, putting out a Poison compilation, hosting a cruise in November and working on his autobiography. The rocker told Billboard, “I feel absolutely great man.” As for his new solo record, Get Your Rock On, he promises it will be rock mixed with some “Americana and contemporary country.” Read more at Billboard.com.

Last month, Bret Michaels underwent surgery to repair a hole in his heart. It seems that his recovery is going well because the rocker told People magazine he’ll be ready to perform in March. Bret said, “I am pumped to get back on the road and start rocking out on stage for all my awesome fans.” Bret is scheduled to headline the Rock N’ Roll Marathon Series during a four-city tour that begins in Dallas on March 27th.
