Guns N' Roses announced this morning they are hitting the road for a limited concert tour that will cover the Northeast. There are only six dates, and they are limited to New York, Chicago, Silver Spring, Maryland and Atlantic City, N.J. The road trip, if you can call it that, will kick off Feb. 10 in the Big Apple.
Guns N’ Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed went from playing the Whisky in Hollywood on Thursday nights to flying to clubs in private jets overnight when he joined the ranks of GN’R in 1990. Reed hooked up with the band when they were at their musical and cultural apex AKA the biggest, baddest band in the world. If Reed wanted a trial by fire, he got it. He recalled his early days in the band while the band was on its current U.S tour.

You really never know what you’re going to get from Axl Rose in an interview, and it seems pretty clear that he isn’t exactly eager to discuss the possibility of reuniting the original Guns N’ Roses lineup for a performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony next year.
Good news for Guns N’ Roses fans who are anxious to get their hands on a new album. From the sound of things, the band will have new music out sometime within the new year. One thing they know for sure is the turn around time won’t take quite as long as it did with their last album, ‘Chinese Democracy.’
Former Guns N’ Roses bass slinger Duff McKagan is once again on the road with his good buddies, as his band Loaded is opening for a pair of dates on GN’R’s uber-raved about tour. When first presented with the offer to play, though, McKagan admits that he wasn’t sure he wanted to join up with his Axl Rose and the current line-up of his old band.
At last night’s Guns N’ Roses show (Dec. 16) at the Key Arena in Seattle, ex-GN’R bassist Duff McKagan hopped on stage to perform with his former band and its current lineup. Fans were likely expecting such a cameo, since McKagan’s band Loaded opened for GN’R and will do so again tonight (Dec. 17) at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia. Perhaps Canadian fans will be treated to the same reunion of sorts. With the band’s loyal contingent of fans hoping for a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame reunion this April, seeing McKagan perform with Axl Rose again is hopefully a harbinger of things to come in 2012.
It looks like several ex-members of Guns N’ Roses have an appetite for reconstruction after it was announced that the band will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Drummers Steven Adler and Matt Sorum both expressed hope that everyone will be wash away years of bad blood are reunite onstage April 14 at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cleveland.
Guns N’ Roses have canceled their concert scheduled for tonight (Dec. 5) at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southhaven, Miss. The marks the second show on their current North American trek that has been nixed because of ‘production issues.’
After a few weeks of hype, Season 9 of VH1 Classic’s ‘That Metal Show’ kicked off last night (which isn’t its regular night, mind you) with the mother of all interviews and on National Metal Day. The camera-shy, elusive W. Axl Rose agreed to a sit down with Eddie Trunk and co. in the early morning hours in Miami. He was rather candid and shared his thoughts on his lateness and lawsuits. He also revealed his original idea for the ‘Appetite for Destruction’ cover.
Guns N Roses not only put on a spectacular show last Saturday night in Dallas, they also made a point to do some good work while they were there. ‘That Metal Show’’s Eddie Trunk and Jim Florentine recently interviewed Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses for an upcoming episode of the show, set to air on VH1 Classic on Nov. 11. On Trunk’s radio show last night (Nov. 4), he talked about the epic interview and teased a few clips for listeners.
