3:30 a.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a significant weather advisory in effect until 4:30 a.m. for Smith, Franklin, Titus, Wood and Camp Counties. Mothball size hail and winds in excess of 35 to 40 mph are expected with these storms.

Update 2:05 a.m.

The national weather service has placed Henderson County under a flash flood warning.

Update 12:45 a.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Smith, Upshur and Wood Counties until 1:45 a.m.

Update 12:00 a.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 12:45 a.m. for Henderson and Van Zandt Counties.

7:30 p.m.

A tornado watch has been issued until 2 a.m. on Tuesday morning for Smith, Anderson, Cherokee, Gregg, Henderson, Rusk, Van Zandt, Upshur,  Wood Counties.

3:00 p.m.

A tornado watch has been issued for North Central Texas, but DOES NOT include any counties in East Texas at this time. This could change later this afternoon and evening.

12:00 p.m.

Any storms that move through today will be scattered, but any that do develop will likely become severe. These storms are expected to move through East Texas between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

A stronger line of storms will move through tomorrow (Tuesday) morning around 7 a.m. and will bring the greatest threat for wind damage and tornadoes. Golfball to baseball size hail is also possible with these storms.

8:00 a.m.

The National Weather Service is putting all of East Texas under a slight risk for severe weather today. The northwest half of East Texas is under a moderate risk. The main threat will be heavy rainfall, lightning, hail, and strong winds along with the threat of tornadoes. There is the possibility of upwards of 4" to 6" of rain between now and tomorrow across a good portion of East Texas. A flash flood watch has been issued for the northern portions of East Texas. The southern counties are expected to be added to the watch later today.

The tornado threat is highest along and west of a Mt. Pleasant to Tyler to Palestine line.
