Midnight Softball This Weekend in Longview

This weekend the 6th Annual "Midnight Madness" Fast Pitch Softball Tournament is happening in Longview. I've never seen any of the games from previous years, but I think it's a cool idea. The games start tonight (June 8th) at 7 p.m. on all eight of the Lear Softball Fields. Tonight's games should end around 3 a.m. and then pick back up Saturday at 5 p.m. and continue with the finals slated to begin around midnight.

There are other events surrounding the tournament that the teams will be participating in- including around the horn, throwing, a dunking booth, and the popular “Pajama Relay Races." There are a record 41 teams scheduled to play in this years tournament.

The Tournament is a USSSA sanctioned tournament, and all of the participating teams will be qualified to play in the 2012 USSSA State North Tournament that will also be held at the Softball Fields at Lear Park, June 29-July 1.
