Yet another sex scandal has rocked Congress this year.

Amidst budget negotiations between the two parties, reports are beginning to come to light that incriminate Democratic Rep. David Wu of Oregon of improper and aggressive sexual advances toward a minor. Details after the jump.

These accusations come from a family friend's daughter, a teenager, who says Wu made these forward advances around Thanksgiving of last year. Wu's staff found out about this inappropriate situation this May, after receiving a frantic voice mail from this young woman, accusing Congressman Wu of this behavior. The senior staff confronted Wu and asked him about the encounter, and Wu made it clear that it was consensual.

This is not the first time the staff has felt alienated by Wu. Prior to his 2010 campaign, the staff received strange emails from Wu, including one that had a picture of Wu dressed up in a tiger suit. Roughly half of his staff resigned after these events.

Wu has not been seen since last Friday, but his office released a statement: "This is very serious, and I have absolutely no desire to bring unwanted publicity, attention or stress to a young woman and her family".

With the 2012 election approaching, two of Wu's competitors have demanded the incumbent resign. Democractic State Rep. Brad Witt of Clatskanie was reported as saying, "If this accusation proves to be true, it is time for David Wu to resign and get the help he needs".

Wu is a graduate of Stanford University and the Yale Law School. He became the first Chinese American Congressman when he was elected to the seat in 1998. He is separated from his wife and his two small children and is currently being treated for an unspecified mental health condition.
