Controversy Erupts Over Second Grader’s Martin Luther King Costume
How would you feel if a Caucasian person dressed as an African-American figure with a painted on black face for a presentation? Sean King, a second grade student at Meridian Ranch Elementary school in Colorado Springs, Co., landed himself and his parents in the principal’s office this week for painting his face black for a class presentation.
Van Halen Postpone Summer 2012 Tour Dates
Following the news last week of several new shows added, things seem to have gone south for Van Halen since then. Without much explanation, the legendary rock band just announced that they’ll be postponing all remaining tour dates after their June 26 show in New Orleans, La. With over 30 dates being postponed, the dates impacted start on July 7 in Uncasville, Conn. and span through a Sept. 25 gig in Milwaukee.

Possum Dixon Guitarist Celso Chavez Dead at 44
Guitarist Celso Chavez, one of the founding members of the ’90s alt-rock band Possum Dixon, passed away Wednesday night at the age of 44. Chavez died of a staph infection complicated by a bout with pneumonia, former bandmate Rob Zabrecky tells the Los Angeles Times. ”He had been doing a lot of harm to his body for a really long time,” Zabrecky says. “It finally took its unfortunate toll.”
