If you're in a band, or if you've been in one in the past, chances are you may have asked, "How can we get more people to hear our music?" Well, we have an answer for you.

96X is looking for music from local bands! Now, as someone who grew up in East Texas and has even played in a few garage bands myself, I know that there's a lot of talent right here in our own backyards ... and garages, storage units, make-shift sound studios and ... well, you know what I mean.

Here's how it works. We need you to send us some of your bands music. One or two tracks are all we need.  Now here's the sweet part. Each day, thousands of people check out our site from all over the country, so not only are we giving you the opportunity to have your music heard by a lot of people, (for free), but you'll also have a chance to have your band's song(s) played on the air.

After we get some music from four to five (or more) bands, we'll post the tracks here on our website, and then let listeners vote on which tracks they like -- our own digital "battle of the bands."  If your band gets the most votes, or if we even have a couple of bands that have an overwhelming response, we'll get you some air play.

But, of course, all of this is pointless, unless we get some music from you!

So, here's what we need:

1)  A track with your bands song, preferably in .mp3 or.wav format, but we'll also take CD's as well.

2)  Any info about your band that you would like others to know about.  Facebook page, website, things like that so that if people like your stuff, they can find out more about you.

3)  Your band's name, people in the band, phone numbers, email addresses.  Basically just ways for us to contact you.

You can submit your digital tracks to my fancy, way too long email:  christophercobb@townsquaremedia.com

Or send CDs to:

We hope to hear from you, and keep on rockin' East Texas!!
